tHE TRUCK WORKSHOP
Forcible Entry

Forcible Entry is a form of art. In our Forcible Entry class we rediscover this lost art, touching on various aspects of the craft.  This Forcible Entry Class is a Hands-On Intensive Class covering Forcible Entry on Inward and Outward swinging doors, Through The Lock Methods, and Saw Work related to Forcible Entry.

Every student will also get saw time cutting rebar, chain, and padlocks. If you want to learn take your skills to the next level or simply looking to learn a new skill set this is the class for you!

Search & veis

If not you, then who? Whether you’re on an Engine, Truck, or Rescue Company. Paid or Volunteer, the Primary Mission of The Fire Service is still Life Safety. The citizens we have sworn to protect expect us to execute a search with our max effort 100% of the time.

Our search course covers Size Up, Search Techniques, Live Victim Drags and Carries, and Victim Removal Techniques. This course also puts an emphasis on Vent Enter Search Operations and Victim Removal via Ground Ladders! We are in the business of Customer Service, are you up to the challenge of providing the best Customer Service Possible?

Ground ladders

Ground ladders look better off the truck, than they do on the truck. Nothing ensures the interior crews safety more that knowing at any given window or balcony there is going to be a ground ladder if something goes wrong or in the case of victim rescue why drag a victim through a structure when there is a ground ladder right behind you?

In this course we will teach you the importance of proactivity, rather than reactivity. Various techniques to carry and throw ground ladders, one and two man operations.

Fire Service Saws

We are in a generation where our new firefighters have no understanding of power tools, specifically saws.  Also, our fire ground has evolved to the point where many times a saw is needed to help mitigate a scene.  This class will cover the different saws encountered in the fire service; to include chainsaws, rotary saws, recap saws, and band saws.  Battery powered vs. electric vs. gasoline powered equipment will be discussed as well as used.

Maintenance and trouble shooting will be addressed as well as performed. Students will also be able to use different saws/saw blades and saw chains on different materials, which helps students performing a saw evaluation for their department. Lastly, saws will be used in different skills that are routinely performed on fire ground scenes.

The ENGINE WORKSHOP

A lot of firefighters become fascinated with Ladder Trucks and Rescue Companies. Both of these units play a huge role in the fire service, but both will not be successful on a fire ground without a strong Engine Company. In short staffed situations, fire departments will cut corners on fire ground tasks. One thing will always happen at every fire you go to. An attack line of some sort will be deployed; water will be flowed from that attack line, and firefighters will advance that line. Having efficient water (GPM) and being proficient in deployment will make or break; fire suppression, search operations, rescue operations, ventilation.

The list can go on and on. A proficient engine company sets the standard for the rest of the fire ground operation. We will discuss how to get the most out of our attack lines, flowing copious amounts of water by yourself, getting charged hose lines where they need to be, and setting you and your company up for success. Determination, discipline, education, and dedication are the core of being proficient with your engine company. None of these techniques or information was created by our group of firemen. These are all things that we have been taught by other firemen. It is our entire job as firemen and craftsmen of the job to share information, perfect our craft and spread the virus.

This class will focus on effective engine company operations: getting attack lines in service fast, moving and advancing hoselines, and stream effeciveness. We will discuss a variety of issues including water supply issues, extendng handlines, and multi- story firefighting operations.

Will be using the student’s present engine company to explore street-smart solutions in stretching handlines. Students will expand their ability to operate as an efficient engine company member and acquire skills for various situations.
